I found Inkscape as best vector editor for beginners, as it provides easy to use tools and environment. You can understand basic of Graphic designing with it. I have written three tutorials previously you might want to check.

Pen tool, a machine-gun for designers in Inkscape | Inkscape tutorial 3

Pen tool is one of the important and most frequently used tool for designers. It should be known as designers’ machine-gun because it does work like that. Pen tool is very easy to use. Sometime (all most all the time) you need to imitate a graphic to use or to improve its style, quality, color or use it as add-on for your own design. At that time you can use your pen-tool-weapon. Pen tool is used for tracing out designs, images or elements in a big picture. I will show you how you can make a graphi-copy of any object. I am going to design a simple leaf graphic from an image. Shape tool introduced – Inkscape Tutorial 2

Ok so here we are putting our hand into the bag of creativity. After getting overview of interface of Inkscape (Beginners Tutorial 1 : Overview of Inkscape Interface!) its time to have look all these tools in Inkscape. As of now we will play with Shape tool.

A single shape may be simple design but if you have great imagination and creativeness then you can design Monalisa out of these simple shapes. Remember Effort + Imagination = Applause. Anyway lets start this session on shape tool.

Inkscape is a popular vector graphic application and released as Open Source(Free). You can download it from the link Download Inkscape. And here I am going to start a tutorial series on how to use Inkscape. This is the very first and basic Inkscape tutorial.
